About Truevine Web Design

Truevine's "roots" began forming more than 17 years ago - back when high speed internet meant downloading an email in less than 10 minutes. Since that time, technology has positively exploded, and you're now in the minority if you DON'T have a web site for your business.

The Roots Take Form - Web Sites For Small Businesses Several years ago, I (Dave Henderson) worked as the web designer/developer and content manager for a Rochester, NY electronic parts and sourcing company. It was here that I learned how to look beyond flashy graphics and fancy layouts and really analyze how to build a good web site from the ground up. After a few great years there, I realized that my passion was bigger than a single web site.

That led me to a position at a web design and development firm where I could pour my passion for building great web sites into customer after customer. It was here, with the help of some very talented people, that I learned how to create not only professional-looking web sites, but web sites that had real functionality and value for their owners - long after the initial build was complete.

The Vine Grows and Strengthens I noticed a recurring pattern that nearly every small business owner wanted: a great looking web site built for a reasonable price that they could actually update themselves when complete. In my opinion, all that just wasn't possible for a bigger design firm that focuses on larger companies. For that reason, and with the help and support of my wife Susan, Truevine Web Design was born. Applying the principles learned through many years of experience, Truevine has grown steadily creating great web sites at affordable prices with custom-built content management systems that actually work for their owners!

Why the Name Truevine and the Reference to the Bible Verse John 15:1? In a vineyard, the vine is the main trunk of the plant. The branches depend on the vine for their life, for their vitality and nutrients. The vine is the source, the tap of these things to the branches. The vine is the means of support, literally as well as physically, to the branches.

Without the vine the branches have nothing. That is why they have to be connected to the vine. We believe it is this way, spiritually, with Jesus and His people. His relationship to them and ours to Him is such that He is the Vine, the source of our life, our strength, our salvation. We depend on Him for everything, just as the branch depends on the vine for everything. It is in Christ that all the nutrients of God's grace that we stand in need of are found.

Our Team

Whether you need a complete overhaul or a simple "freshening up" for your web site, we have the design, development and project management experience you need.

Dave Henderson

Owner, Designer/Developer

Dave holds a bachelor's degree in business and public relations from SUNY Brockport. Most of Dave's design and development experience has been gained by watching MAJOR nerds do their thing, and then doing the same thing. To a lesser degree, some of Dave's knowledge is self-taught and has increased with years of experience in the field.

Susan Henderson

General Manager

While Dave would love to take all the credit for Truevine's creative and professional web sites, much of the real design talent lies within Susan's capable mind. If there's an important design decision to make, Susan's keen eye kicks into high-gear. More than just a pretty face with a big brain, Susan has a true savvy for design and business.

Michael Polzella

A recent Business and Computer Information Systems graduate of St. Joseph's College (Long Island Campus) and resident of Port Jefferson Station, NY, Michael is our go-to development guru, skilled in PHP and MySQL, among other technologies. Because of Michael's "can-do" personality, Truevine has taken on several projects we never would have considered previously. Michael is a true asset to our team!
